Who done it??

Who T.P.'s a house on a Sunday night? Who would do this to a sweet mother of a beautiful 15 month old girl whose husband leaves the house at 6 am and was stuck cleaning it up alone? Have you ever tried cleaning wet toilet paper with a 15 month old? So, who is going to claim this late night mischief?

Not only did I get to clean up wet toilet paper but as I was finishing up and had a very nice pile of t.p.; I felt something wet splatter on me and noticed dripping on the concrete around me. It was a clear blue sky morning so I new it was not rain. I looked up above me and way up high two huge hawks were flying above me and yes-they were pooping! So now, I had pile of t.p., Bailey, and hawk poop on me.
I swiftly threw the toilet paper away, took Bailey in the house, and handed her a bottle and went to get in the shower. However, Bailey was not happy about my hurried state and followed me into the bathroom fussing. So, she stood there with the shower curtain open, drinking her bottle, watching me shower off hawk poop.
Once clean, Bailey, Frani, and I took a relaxing walk and I laughed about my unique crazy morning.

And-who did this!!!

Father's Day

Brandon woke up to the smell of homemade cream cheese french toast topped with strawberries, orange juice, and an iced coffee from Starbucks. Bailey and I were up early and she helped me cook-what I mean is that she was on my hip the entire time eating bread and strawberries.
Bailey brought Brandon his card and present while he was eating breakfast. I made Brandon a scrapbook of pictures of him and Bailey over the past 15 months and all the major events that took place during that time- he says he wants to look at it every night.

We went to church in the morning then took Bailey to my parent's for her nap so Brandon and I could spend some time together. We enjoyed an afternoon of sushi, reading, and relaxing. It had been much too long since we had sushi, and boy was it good. Brandon and I used to enjoy sushi almost once a week when we were dating- a time when I made big tips and had little expenses.

In the evening we had a BBQ at my parent's and had some great quality family time. We all pitched in and bought my dad a night scope for Oregon. He was super excited. My dad is great because he loves gadgets and such things. He will definitely sit out late at night on the porch in Oregon with my mom and look for animals and things creeping around at night. And we joked that one day when playing hide-and-go-seek with the grandkids at night that he will cheat with his night vision.

Ponytail Time

I was so excited to discover Bailey's hair fits in a ponytail now. It is a little tribal but oh so cute.

2 Years!

Brandon and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on June 9th. We took our first weekend get-away as parent's over the weekend. We put Bailey to bed thursday night at my parent's house
then drove to San Diego for 2 nights and 2 days all to our selves!

When we walked into our hotel room we were surprised to find a bottle of wine, a cheese board with apricot, bread, honey, and fog cheese laid out all nice. We figured this was some crude trick of the hotel to get an extra buck but then we noticed a card made out to "Mrs. Douglas." So, Brandon called the front desk and learned that Mrs. Douglas moved rooms and received new wine and cheese. Brandon then asked, "well, can we have it complimentary then?" They said YES. We were seriously super excited to get such a "hook-up." So, we sat looking out our window at the bay and the down town area of San Diego while drinking wine and eating delicious delicacies. Great start to a very nice and relaxing weekend. Thank you Mrs. Douglas!

Friday we attempted to sleep in, however, our body clocks are set to "Bailey time" so sleeping in past 7:3o am is impossible. I actually was up much earlier because it was weird not having Bailey near me. I was up at 6:30 am and so I snuck out of our room, walked to the nearest starbucks, got coffee and breakfast, and went back to surprise Brandon. It was wonderful to have slow lazy mornings.
We then took our bikes all over the town. We rode up through the Gaslamp Quarter to Old Town. We ate super yummy mexican food in Old Town and Brandon thought it would be fun to have the Meriochi band serenade us. It's like the longest 60 seconds of your life while three guys loudly sing and play music in a different language in your face; but when it is all over, it makes for a humorous memory.

The rest of the weekend was spent lounging by the pool, eating dinner in the Gaslamp Quarter, an early morning run by the bay, taking the troller tour all over San Diego and visiting Coronado Island and Balboa park. It was fun to feel "young" and spontaneous again but by saturday afternoon we really missed Bailey and could not wait to kiss her face.

Dedication

Bailey was dedicated on Sunday May 31st, at our church, Rockharbor. The church tradition of baby dedications comes from the Biblical story of a woman named Hannah in the Old Testament who was so thankful that the Lord had blessed her with a baby that she prayed to the Lord that she would dedicate her newborn son, Samuel, back to the Lord all the days of his life - "for as long as he lives, he is given to the Lord" - 1 Samuel 1:28.

As Christians, we use dedication as a chance to thank the Lord for Bailey; and as parents, we make a commitment to be held accountable before our church that we will raise Bailey to the best of our abilities in accordance with the Love that God has demonstrated towards us.

Riding Ponies and Hugging Goats

Irvine Park is my favorite Orange County park. It is beautiful, peaceful, and has fun activities. I have been coming to this park with my family as long as I can remember and some of my earliest memories include my 3rd birthday party and riding the ponies. I was really excited to take Bailey on her first pony ride here. She seemed to enjoy it but she got more excited by some dogs that went by.
We then took a stroll by the lake and eventually went to the zoo. Bailey loved the petting zoo and gave all the goats hugs.

Brandon and I had so much fun with Bailey and Bailey was very excited to have her grandparent's join; she sure loves them!
