"Sing to the Lord, you His faithful ones,
and praise His holy name.
For His anger lasts only a moment,
but His favor, a lifetime.
Weeping may spend the night,
but there is joy in the morning."
I just wanted to share a verse that I just read this morning. I mentioned a while back that I try and wake up early so I have time to read my Bible and go to the gym. So mornings have turned into a refreshing, calm, and peaceful time for me. I feel little rush or pressure to "get things done." I set apart this time of the day to not think or plan but to just relax.
When I read this verse I started thinking about how often I fall asleep so tired, distracted, frustrated, or whatever, but each morning I feel hope. I have hope in a new start and knowing that the Lord does not have emotions like me but is forgiving and patient and his anger may only last a "moment." Something about waking up, no matter what time of the day, is so renewing. I think the Lord blesses us with the need of sleep to allow our emotions and worries to calm down and get back to normal perspective. When I have a day that I feel particularly week in some area it is refreshing to know that tomorrow or today is new day. It seems in the mornings I am able to look at 'yesterday' more realistically and clearly. I am able to reset my goals and try again. And what a beautiful symbol God gives us for new days-a glorious and beautiful sunrise! Even if you are not awake for the sunrise hopefully you experience the crisp fresh air and the silence that mornings tend to bring.

Beautiful, I love this. I love the morning time too. I take Joe to the train at 6 am everyday and I like to stay up and work-out a bit, have my coffee, and spend some time with the Lord. I have been getting lazy and climbing back into bed and I feel so behind with everything when I wake up...so I feel encouraged to get back into my routine.
Thanks, I love that scripture :)
